A high level manager contacted me in a panic. He was angry because his superior had asked him to give an important presentation in three days. He needed help - fast.
occasional speech encoders make many mistakes. Three that are very common, are poor speech-writing, insufficient knowledge on the subject, and presentation skills not developed.
When writing a speech, they think that the perspective of the public. Try to involve the public immediately, is to tell aappropriate joke or story, recited a statistic, or ask a theoretical question.
Explain why the information is of value to the listener. It will help them improve their bottom line, play golf better understand foreign policy, so they can explain their neighbors there, or make the community safer? Why should they listen?
Organizing the material with only a few main points. It 'clearly organized and licensed on time? ThereStories, graphics or other methods used to capture the attention? It 's interesting?
End the speech with a brief overview of the topic, and many techniques to close. One is a clear call to action, if the desired action is to send an e-mail to a community event or something else to do.
You know well the subject, especially with respect to the others who also know that the topic will be presented. Prepare additional resources you can count on when needed. Think of questions that probably canhe asked, and knowing the answers. If absolutely necessary, saying the public do not know, get the answer, but to the person, when it leaves the contact information. (Very few people make it.) Sometimes it can be an appropriate source and reference.
presentation skills improved significantly with practice. In order to overcome "stage fright", or at least reduce, you're a teacher, not a "speaker". You know what the public does not, that isbecause you're there to give this presentation.
Basically a tape recorder or other device. Play. You seem informed, enthusiastic and clear? It is easy to understand the pronunciation? It is the contact information on hand-out (if any)?
the public is watching and listening to music. If you are the visual presentation materials, are easy to read and understand? Search enthusiastic or at least comfortable?
It ismuch more to giving presentations well. The tips above, however, will make your next presentation more polished and professional. You only have one chance to make a great first impression. Be ready!
